Dhikala Forest Rest House: Dhikala is one of the most popular sought after tourist accommodation in Corbett Tiger Reserve. The herd of elephants and spotted deers pack the vast expanse of famous Dhikala Chaur. This is probably the best place in the Tiger Reserve to spot very rare Hog Deer. Staying at Dhikala is an experience every wildlife enthusiast looks forward to. Dhangari gate is the entrance to the Dhikala zone. Dhangari gate is located 18 km away from Ramnagar while Dhikala Tourist Complex is located 31 Kms inside the Dhangari Gate. Dhikala is open for tourists from 15th November to 15th June. But remains inaccessible during Monsoon season. Dhikala tourist complex overlooks Ramganga Reservoir and is a perfect place to observe Crocodiles and Gharials basking in the banks of Ramganga. Accommodation: Dhikala Forest Rest House: Different kinds of accommodations are available at Dhikala. Along with the Forest Rest House, Cabins, Hutment, Annexe Dhikala also has 24 bunk beds in Log Huts. The rooms are comfortable with basic amenities. The restaurant serves buffet meals with a good choice of quality foods. A small Canteen is also available for the visitors. Sultan Forest Rest House is the first lodge you will come across when you drive from the Dhangari gate to Dhikala Lodge. It is approximately 9 km inside the Dhikala zone almost on the main road which goes to the Dhikala forest rest house from the Entry gate. Surrounded by Sal forest it is one of the best places for those who wish to relax in a peaceful and serene environment. It is named after Sultan Sot (local seasonal stream) which flows through this region. With only 2 double bedrooms Sultan Forest Rest House is one of the smallest rest houses in the Dhikala zone of Jim Corbett national park.
Gairal Forest Rest House is managed and booked by Corbett Tiger Reserve. This Forest rest house is located deep inside the thick forest of Jim Corbett National Park in the state of Uttarakhand. One can book rooms at this forest rest house through the official website of Corbett Tiger Reserve. Unlike the other forest rest house of Corbett Tiger Reserve are little or far away from the river, Gairal Forest Rest House is right next to Ramganga river and offers a true riverside forest retreat experience to their guest. To keep away wild animals from the Gairal forest rest house forest department has fixed solar power fencing of 6 feet high on the periphery of the Gairal Forest Rest House.

Canteen and Food: Gairal Forest Rest House has one small canteen and one dining room where 10-15 people can sit comfortably and have meals. Guests have the option to have breakfast or lunch on the open lawn which is next to the dining room from here guests can also enjoy the spectacular view of the Ramganga river and forest. This canteen is operated by Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam and serves only veg meals to its resident and visiting guests. In breakfast, they normally serve tea, coffee, bread, butter, jam, and parathas, and in lunch and dinner at least one vegetable dish, lentil, rice, and roti. To add more flavor guests can carry fruits, pickle from outside. During the day canteen also take order for noodles, omelet with tea, coffee at a very reasonable price. Consumption of any meat or fish or liquor is strictly prohibited while staying at Gairal forest rest house in Jim Corbett national park.
Sarapduli forest Rest House is located on the way to Dhikala lodge from the Dhangari gate 18 km inside the forest. It is the most centrally located rest house in the Dhikala tourism zone with close proximity to the Ramganga river. Sarapduli forest rest house is surrounded with mixed forest and river beds making it one of the best-suited forest lodge for wildlife viewing in the Dhikala zone. Sarapduli is also the best place in case someone wants to spot crocodile or gharial because of its close proximity to sandbanks at Ramganga river where these retiles mostly bask in the sun.

Khinnanauli is the VVIP guest house in the Dhikala zone of Jim Corbett national park overlooking the grassland. Its easy approach to most of the main safari areas is what makes its location unique. It is approximately 26 km from the Dhangarhi gate on the way to the Dhikala forest rest house.

Birjani Tourist Zone is a very popular area of the spectacular Corbett Tiger Reserve. This zone is enriched with a huge number of floral and faunal species. Birjani gives a tough competition to the Dhikala zone while the tourist’s preferences are concerned. The zone is known for its wonderful landscape and is a very calm and quiet place. The beauty of this place is appreciated by all the visitors. This is one of the most tiger rich areas of the park. Birjani consists of a mixed topography with dense Sal forests combined with grasslands. The entry to this zone is through Aamdanda Gate.
Within Bijrani Zone, Forest rest houses are located in Bijrani and Malani. The rest house at Bijrani has six rooms (Four with double beds and two with a single bed) and a dormitory consisting of four beds. The compound has its own restaurant and canteen. Elephant rides into the jungle are available from here. The region is frequented by wild animals and birds unperturbed by human interventions. The chances of spotting a tiger, Sloth bear, and herd of elephants are quite high in this part of the park. The rest house in Malani has two rooms (Double bed) and is very popular among bird watchers and tourists seeking a peaceful place. The picturesque beauty of Birjani is magnificent. It is endowed with wide grasslands, thick forests and huge water drains, and an inspiring count of flora and fauna.
Bijrani safari zone is highly endowed with a rich diversity of flora and fauna. Bijrani zone, situated at a suitable distance from Ramnagar is the most preferred zone for Wildlife enthusiasts visiting the park for a day visit. It gives its visitors a wonderful experience of the beautiful forests.
The compound has its own restaurant and canteen, where buffet meals are served with a variety of good quality food at affordable prices.
Malani Forest Rest House: This wonderful forest rest house is located 12 Kms due northwest of Bijrani. Strategically located on the edge of the core zone of the tiger reserve, Malani has a lot to offer from most picturesque surroundings and solitude. The game drive to Malani is quite a rewarding experience amidst nature as it's an easy opportunity to watch different mammals and birdlife in their natural habitats.

Jhirna Forest Rest House is located on the southern boundary of the Corbett Tiger Reserve and may be approached from the Dhela entry gate. The vegetation here is drier and mostly shrub. It was a farming land till the villages (Dhara, Jhirna, and Kothirau) were relocated in 1994 under Project Tiger. The area has recovered really well and is a testimony of the rejuvenating power of nature. After the successful ecological recovery, the area is a favored ground of Wild animals now.
The animal population also comprises sloth bears and wild elephants which provide great sights for wildlife enthusiasts. Jhirna zone is open throughout the year. The Jhirna jeep safari zone is one of the most eye-catching spots inside the Corbett Tiger Reserve.
Day visit to Jhirna Zone is through Dhela Gate which is 20 km from Ramnagar. Its main topography mainly constitutes deciduous and secondary forest interspersed with plush open grasslands that offer amazingly good visibility of wild animals.
Situated at the southern edge of Jim Corbett National Park the Jhirna tourism zone offers some exclusive tiger and sloth bear sighting along with a spectacular view of the landscape which is pretty rich in wildlife. The topography of the Jhirna zone primarily is a dry deciduous type and consists of a large Grassland (Chaur) known as the Laldhang Chaur. This big Chaur is the favorite place for the herbivores of the zone like deer, chitals, nilgai, and elephants. Numerous water streams in this zone nourish the wildlife of this zone and adding the natural ambiance of the zone.
The region has FRHs in both the Sonanadi Wildlife Sanctuary and the Domunda Tourism Zone of the Corbett Tiger Reserve. Halduparao, the only FRH in the Sonanadi Sanctuary and can be accessed from the Vatanvasa gate. The FRH at Kanda is in Jim Corbett National Park. The FRHs of Morghatti and Pakhro are on the periphery of the Sonanadi Sanctuary and can be approached from Kalagarh and Kotdwar. The FRHs of Lohachaur, Rathuawadhab, and Mundiyapani are in the Domunda Tourism Zone of CTR accessed from the. Durgadevi gate ahead of Ramnagar, The FRH of Kalagarh can be approached shortly of Ramnagar while that of Mohaan is 30km ahead of Ramnagar. Sonanadi Sanctuary is spread over 301.18 sqkm of prime forests of the Shiwalik Terai biotic province. Sonanadi literally means the river of gold. Gold panning used to be carried out in the river before the area became a sanctuary.
The Palain and the Mandal are the perennial streams of the sanctuary. Historically, it was carved out of Kalagarh Forest Division. It was brought under the umbrella of Project Tiger and became a part of the Corbett Tiger Reserve in 1991 and also a part of Project Elephant. There are no villages inside the sanctuary. The forests of Sonanadi are remarkable for dense sal and rich bamboo clusters besides other species and is teeming with wildlife. Sonanadi range is located in Sonanadi Wildlife Sanctuary which is a part of Jim Corbett National Park. Developed as a natural habitat of wildlife animals and birds, the Sonanadi range is blessed with the amazing beauty of flora and fauna. Situated in the north of the Sonanadi river, this zone is a favorite place for Asiatic Elephant along with tiger, cheetal, sambhar, leopard, and reptiles. Visitors can also enjoy over 550 birds in their natural habitat.
Lohachaur, Rithuadhab, and Halduparao are some Forest Rest Houses in the Sonanadi range available for night stay. Safari options like Jeep and elephant are available to enjoy wildlife at Sonanadi Range. Tourists are advised to pre-book entry ticket for a Safari in Sonanadi Zone. One can pre-book entry tickets from the Ramnagar office. Sonanadi Zone is open for visitors from 15 October to 15 June and closed for monsoon. There are several safaris operated during a day in the Sonanadi zone.
Lohachaur Forest Rest House: Lohachaur Forest Rest House This lodging is located in the northern part of the reserve of tigers of the Corbett RF buffer zone. It is located on the banks of the Mandal river upstream of its confluence with Ramganga. You can get access from the Durga Devi gate.
Halduparao Forest rest house: Halduparao rest house built in 1890 is located at a distance of 50km from Kotdwara. The entry is through Vatanvasa gate followed by a 10 km drive on a forest road. It is located on the right bank of Palain river at an elevation of 385m, giving visitors a panoramic view for the river and the forests nearby. The FRH is over 100 years old.
Rathuwadhab Forest Rest House: Rathuwadhab Forest Rest House is a modest FRH built in 1899 on the banks of the Mandal river. Overlooking the suspension bridge and lime painted settlements with slate roof, it offers a wonderful view of the river and the village nearby.
Mundiyapani Forest Rest House: Mundiyapani Forest Rest House is situated amidst dense mixed forests. It was built in 1903 at an elevation of 547m and is very good site for avid bird watchers. A drive to Halduparao FRH in Sonanadi Wildlife Sanctuary is recommended for those staying here.
